YN Nursery Trip - notification of dates of closure
The Nursery team have organised a trip for the children in Hedgehog class to Butterfly World next term, for our topic on Animals. The trips will be taking place on Tuesday 14th May and Friday 17th May; please be aware the Nursery will be closed these days if your child is not on the trip. Due to staffing ratios, the children will be allocated which day they are invited to join us on the trip. Letters will be going out next week with details and allocated days but please talk to the Nursery team if you have any questions or queries.

Mr Spencer’s absence
I know you will all join with us in wishing John Spencer well for the next stage of his hip repair.  He will be away from school for the next 8-10 weeks and, in his absence, our Acting Assistant Principal will be Alison Flynn on Mondays - Wednesdays and Sam Grindley on Thursday - Friday.  Our Senior Leadership Team has been preparing for this situation for some time and we are confident that the arrangements put in place for these changes of role, including the class cover needed whilst Mrs Flynn and Miss Grindley are out of class, will ensure that your children continue to well lead and supported in their learning.  We are fortunate to have a number of qualified teachers working with us as Teaching Assistants and so Mr Kirby will be taking Mrs Flynn’s class and Miss Jenner, will be taking Miss Grindley’s class on the days cover is needed.

Y6 Junior Good Citizen Event
We have been lucky enough to be selected to attend the event in 5th June which will be held at the The Punjabi Community Centre, the event is free of charge, however we are asking parents to contribute to the cost of the coach £5.50 and consent on parent pay.

Swindon has marked its 30th year of Junior Good Citizen today and has taken the opportunity to celebrate.
The annual Junior Good Citizen (JGC) scheme is designed to engage young people in a fun learning environment and equip them with life skills as they make their transition from Primary to Secondary Education.
The multi-agency scheme engages schools, emergency services and local authorities who work together in partnership to educate children from Year Six – aged 10 and 11, to better safeguard themselves and help others.
Topics include:
  • Personal Safety – Wiltshire Police
  • Dog Safety – Swindon Borough Council (SBC) & Blue Cross animal rescue
  • Internet Safety – Swindon Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB)/SBC
  • Road Safety – SBC
  • Electrical Safety – Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue
  • Railway Safety – British Transport Police
  • Weapons awareness – Youth Offending Team & Community Safety

The event is free, however we are asking parents to contribute towards the coach costs.

Message from STFC

Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians,
We've a fantastic competition to tell you about and a forthcoming announcement, but firstly, priority booking is 'live' from next week!

To ensure that you retain your child's space at their current session, please book online at https://officialsoccerschools.co.uk/stfitc/

We're also about half way to capacity already for our Easter Holiday development camps, if you haven't already booked, don't delay book here: https://officialsoccerschools.co.uk/stfitc/swindon-town-courses/holiday.html

Onto our competition, as Mother's Day is at the end of the month, we appreciate all you do as Mum, including course booking, taxiing to sessions and kit washing. We have a little hamper giveaway, which we'll show on our Facebook over the next couple of days. https://www.facebook.com/stfitc/
We just want your child/children to design a card with the line 'I love my Mum because....... followed by a reason they think you're great and a design of their choice. No need to send the card in, you can keep this on your fridge! Just send in a photo via Facebook messenger or admin@stfc-fitc.co.uk. All entries will be numbered and go into a draw, with the lucky winner being announced on Friday 29th March.

If you have any questions, please contact us on 01793 421303.

Kind Regards,

The Community Trust Team
