The Scarecrow Trail is Nearly Here - FOTF Update
It's only a week until the trail so here is some extra information in relation to the Scarecrow Trail including how to get your trail maps through school.

The trail starts next Saturday 4th May and runs for a week finishing with a final judging and prize giving event on Saturday 11th May at 3pm at the school. In this week long event you can purchase a trail map and then enjoy making your way around TGV spotting the Scarecrows and guessing who they are or what their names could be. We have about 30 planned for around the village and it has been great having families and classes from our school alongside other residents and other local schools creating these ready for next week.

Trail Maps are £2 and will be available to purchase a number of ways (You will need to bring your own pen/pencil):
- Through ParentPay up until 1st May and the map will be sent home with your child from school on Friday 3rd May
- At some of the show homes from Sat 4th May (cash only)
- Outside school from 3:15pm on Friday 3rd May (Cash and Contactless payments can be taken) There is also a small cake sale taking place.
- On our final day (Saturday 11th May) we will be outside the front of Tadpole Farm School from giving you one last chance to purchase a map and complete the trail. On that day we will be there from 10am- 3pm not only selling maps but we will also have a small bar (Alcoholic and Soft Drinks), crisps and snacks, Superhero tattoo's, a Superhero Lucky Dip, a Cake Sale and Pick 'n' Mix stand.

Completed maps must be placed into the Red Scarecrow Post Box outside the school office no later than 2pm on Saturday 11th May.

Our final part of the trail is a award giving ceremony on Saturday 11th May at 3pm at the school where the Prize Draw with £100 cash prize for the winning trail map and the winners of the best voted Superhero's will also be announced.

All are welcome to join in and help us raise funds for Tadpole Farm CE Academy so why not buy lots of maps and invite others to join you find them.
For more up to date information then please follow our Facebook page 'Friends of Tadpole Farm- TGV Scarecrow Trail'. Please share this event with your friends and family! The more people we get doing the trail the more money we make to benefit our children!

Thanks for your support,
Tadpole Friends Committee

Year 3 - We, the Curious - Trip Reminder Monday 29th April

  • Children need to be at school ready to leave at 8:30 a.m
  • During our trip we will making a short stop at the gift shop.  We have told the children they can bring no more than £5 to spend if they would like to buy something. Please make sure you give them any money in a small purse or container so they do not lose it.
  • Children need to wear school uniform but may wear trainers
  • Children will be back before school finishes so normal collection time.
All parents to note that as coach will be using drop zone then the dropping may be a little slower than usual at first; please bear with us.

Football Report

Well done to the football team, who represented the school against Westrop. Unfortunately the result wasn't in our favour but Mrs Philpot did commend the children on their sportsmanship throughout the game despite losing. It was also great to see some of the girls represent the team in what was a first for Tadpole Farm - a mixed football team. The final game of the season is on Tuesday at home to Oakhurst, which will be the final game for our Year 6's.

Year 1 Trip - 8th July

To complete our topic all about Australia this term, we have decided to visit Bristol Zoo to take part in a workshop all about different habitats that animals live within. This is a great opportunity for the children to consolidate their knowledge about the coral reef and the desert, as well as encouraging those inquisitive minds by having a look at a variety of different animals at the zoo!   All payment information is on Parent Pay along with consent. All children will need to be in school at 8.30am and will be back in school ready to collect at 3.30pm: children to wear uniform and can wear trainers if they wish.

School Photos

School photos were sent home on Friday 26th April. Please ask the teachers if you don't receive your order.

Year N Trip - DBS checked Volunteers needed

Nursery have asked if anyone already DBS checked would be able to help on their trip on 14th May? Please contact school office if you can, we need three people:)

Y6 Breakfast Bonus

During SATs week we would like to invite the Y6 children to arrive in school from 8:00 a.m for a sharing breakfast - the menu is just being finalised but is likely to include things like sausage or bacon sandwiches and veggie alternatives, plus fruit juices.  The children will get the full details from Miss Weston during this week.

Parking at End of the School Day

We really appreciate all your diligence in parking safely at the end of the school day and keeping the drop zone clear for the coach on a Wednesday.  Please be aware that the teachers who lead the ballet classes do have permits to park at the end of the drop zone nearest to the school hall. They take up two spaces there and this still leaves plenty of room for the coach.  If a parent has taken up their spaces they have permission to park elsewhere in the drop zone in order that they can begin the ballet classes on time.
