Scarecrow Trail Update from FOTF
Good evening!!
It is a very good evening, Kelly and I have just counted the money and worked out event expenses so we have amazing news! Drum roll please.............
Most importantly we want to say a massive thank you to all of our supporters, volunteers, scarecrow makers, sponsors and school team, who enabled us  to put on an amazing event over the last week. The community engagement has been fantastic; it has been an absolute pleasure to see so many families out walking, scooting and cycling the Scarecrow Trail route.
Now to the important information.......
The £100 Prize Draw Winner: Naomi P
And the winners of the best scarecrow competition as voted by the trail goers were:-
1st Place - ‘Supertato’
2nd Place - Lego Superman
3rd Place - Super Dust Bunny
Over the last 2 months, we have run a 'Quiz Night', 'Cake and Map Sale' and our week long first ever 'TGV -Scarecrow Trail' and have raised an astounding £2,000!!!!!!!
We will be putting a date in the diary for our next meeting, which will be mainly spent organising the Summer Fayre, that is on Saturday 29th June. We need volunteers for organising, setting up, manning a stall and clearing up afterwards; you do not need to be able to give a lot of hours, just a few would make a massive difference. Without volunteers these events could not happen, the money couldn't be raised & we really appreciate any support you can give.

All the money FOTF raises goes straight back into the school and pays for equipment and events that all of our children benefit from.
Lastly, a thank you to Mrs Leo and Mrs Wilding, who not only give up their personal time to attend every FOTF meeting but they are at every event we put on and continually show us a great deal of support!
Kirsty on behalf of the FOTF Team

A Reminder re the YN Trips and YN closure on those days
Just a reminder to parents in YN that nursery is closed Tuesday 14th and Friday 17th May due to trips and children will need a packed lunch.  Please could children also bring suncream and sunhats for the trip.

Another update re parking
Parents are arriving and parking in drop zone by 8.15 even though we don’t open it until 8:30 - this means the entrance gets blocked, so staff cannot get in to start work and queues are forming on the roads in front of school.  This has led to dangerous overtaking and we want to keep all safe so would ask that you aim to arrive from 8:30, not before please.

Message for Year 1 Parents
Some of the Year 1 children have brought home envelopes with some real and alien (not real) words. If your child has brought one of these packs home, please use the flashcards at home to support your child's recognition of their sounds and support their blending. We've also included some useful phonics websites and games on your child's homework sheet. If you need any clarification on any of these things, please come and see Mrs Holloway or Mrs Honour. Thank you!

Year 2 Trip News
Year Two are excited to be visiting ‘The Wild Place’ in Bristol on Tuesday 16th July. We are hoping it will help us tie up our learning about plants and animals across this year in our interactive learning session included in our visit. We will have the chance to see lots of new animals and learn about how they adapt to their new environments. We ask that children are in school at 8.30am ready for the coach to leave by 9am and we aim to be back in school for normal 3.30pm collection. Children will need to come dressed in school uniform and bring a rucksack with a packed lunch, water bottle and weather dependent sun hat/cream or raincoat. All consent and payment details are on Parent pay.

Y6 Bikeability News
Year 6 children have taken home consent forms to complete to take part in Bikability in term 6, dates and details are all on form. Children are required to bring a bike fit to ride and must have a helmet as they will be riding on local roads.
