FOTF Update
You may have spotted our lovely Superhero Scarecrow outside of school on Friday to advertise our Scarecrow Trail in May. So far families from school, classes at Tadpole, students at GWA and local residents have signed up to make one but we still need more. If you want something fun to do over the Easter Holidays with the kids why not sign up to make one? You don't have to live in TGV to create one as there are lots of locations we need them for. There are plenty of ideas online if you are stuck.  To join in the fun please complete the below form by Tuesday 9th April to sign up. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeJSoAArcStiwIsMMfGOYrMO1dCsensocLYfYEGuySDpTL9rQ/viewform?usp=pp_url
Matched Funding
Working Parents- If you want an easy way to make a big impact in FOTF you can ask your employers if they have a Matched Funding/Giving scheme. These types of schemes may give you time off to volunteer, match money you have raised (e.g. helping at a stall at the Summer Fair), or make a donation. It is worth asking!

Reminder re Trip Permissions and Payments

Just a reminder for the following year groups - all payments and permissions are done through Parent Pay - please make sure you have paid and  given permission as soon as possible - thank you.

News from the Eco Committee

The Eco-Committee have been busy boxing up around 1000 crisp packets from the families of Tadpole Farm! Thank you for bringing in your empty packets over the past few weeks - they are off to be weighed and sent off to be recycled to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Please keep them coming! We will keep our recycling going during Term 5, and will let you know if there are any other items we will start collecting, too.

Message for Year 2 - Hook Day and Parent Invite to Taster Sessions for School Lunches

To kick off our next topic in Year Two we will be spending part of our hook day (Tuesday 23rd April) at our forest school discovering local plants and planting our own beans.
Please can all children bring in their forest kit for this day but come in their uniform. We may come back wet and soggy so they will want something to change back into!
We are also asking each child to bring a see through jar or tub - labelled - that they can use to grow their own bean in for the term. Any spare jars would be gratefully received in case we have any children that are unable to find one!

Y2 parent taster lunch meals have been added to parent pay and diary for end June. limited to 30 spaces over two days, all details on payment item.

Football Match Report from Miss Wood

I couldn't be prouder of the 9 boys that played this afternoon  (3/4/19). They worked tremendously hard and their hard work was rewarded as they only lost 2-0, with Red Oaks' second goal coming, agonisingly, in the last 5 minutes, in which the boys were pushing for an equaliser. It nearly came after we had chances through Luke and Owain, which wouldn't have been created without the effort of Darcy and Nathan working hard in midfield. The boys at the back were superb: Ryan, Daniel, Harley and William stood strong as Red Oaks piled on the pressure and with the help of our 'super shot stopper' Muhammad, they made sure the score stayed low.
It's been a pleasure working these boys this year and despite results not going our way they are learning everytime they represent the school and are enjoying their experience of playing for the school team.
Also a big thanks to Mrs Wathen who supported the boys this afternoon and took some cracking action shots.
Miss Wood
(A huge thank you to Miss Wood and Mrs Philpott for giving up their time to organise and coach the boys - from all of us at Tadpole)

Club Sign Up for Term 5 and 6.
Please click on the link below and make a choice from the clubs for your child for term five and six - there are clubs for YR - Y6. Clubs start week of  6th May and will run in weeks beginning 6/05, 13/05, 20/05, 3/06, 10/06, 17/06, 24/06 and 1/07. We will try our best to allocate a club to those who choose one but, if clubs are over subscribed, names will be drawn randomly. In line with our school values, we expect children to attend where possible every week as staff have given up their own time to run the clubs. The closing date is Friday 26th April at 3pm and clubs will be announced by Wednesday 1st May via the email used to sign up initially.
